5 prompts I actually use, and how to get the most out of them

Prompts are only as good as how well you set them up. Here are five I keep saved in my AI tools and return to regularly. This isn’t theory; these are tools that save me time and raise the quality of my output every single day.

Want to get the most out of these prompts? Stay tuned for the next cohort of Future AI Leader, where I share my complete AI know-how. I’ll show you how to shift to an AI-first mindset, make the most of AI tools, and prepare yourself and your team for what’s ahead.

Before diving in, three things that determine whether prompts actually work for you:

Save them as AI assistants. GPTs in ChatGPT, Projects in Claude, Agents in Copilot, Gems in Gemini. A prompt you have to copy every time is a prompt you’ll stop using.

Expect to iterate. No prompt works perfectly on the first try. Most people quit after one attempt, and that’s exactly where you can pull ahead if you stick with it.

Adapt them to your needs. Every prompt here is a starting point, not a finished product. Adjust the language, tone, and context to fit how you actually work.

1. Elite Prompt Engineer

What it does: Helps you craft precise, effective instructions for AI, whether you’re analyzing data, writing code, or doing creative work. Instead of vague inputs, you get structured prompts that actually deliver.

What to customize: Nothing mandatory. Optionally, add your domain or industry to the “Understand the Domain” section.

How to start:

  • “Write instructions for an AI agent that analyzes sales data and creates weekly reports with charts and recommendations.”
  • “I need a prompt for an AI assistant that helps developers with code review, focusing on readability, security, and best practices.”

2. Professional Email Generator

What it does: Turns your notes and rough thoughts into polished, professional emails. It preserves your authentic voice, fixes grammar, and adjusts tone to the situation. Perfect for moments when you know what you want to say but don’t want to spend time on the wording.

What to customize: Set your preferred writing style. Paste in 3–5 of your real emails so the AI understands your voice. Optionally, add your industry for accurate terminology.

How to start:

The best input is a rough list of bullet points, or just dictate your thoughts. Let the AI handle the rest.

“Turn these points into an email for our investors: project is done, we went 15% over budget, but we have three new features customers love and ROI will beat projections.”

3. LinkedIn Content Editor & Writer

What it does: Improves your LinkedIn posts, fixes grammar, strengthens structure and engagement, while keeping your voice intact. It never adds made-up facts; it simply elevates what you’ve already written.

What to customize: Add your industry, content style, and target audience. Paste in 5–7 of your real posts and comments to calibrate your style. Specify who you are primarily writing for.

How to start:

The best approach is to jot down a rough outline or simply dictate your thoughts into your computer or phone, and AI will turn it into a polished post. Just remember to fine-tune the result using the 90/10 rule (90% from AI, the final 10% from you).

Example 1: “Write a post about AI in HR based on this text.” [paste your draft text]

Example 2: “I’d like to write a post about how we pulled off a challenging project. It should be inspiring but realistic. Here are the key points:

  • tight deadline (3 weeks)
  • we had to change the architecture mid-development
  • the team held together
  • ultimately a success thanks to open communication
  • what I would do differently next time”

4. AI Collaboration Analyzer

⬇ Download: AI Collaboration Analyzer

What it does: Analyzes your AI conversations and turns them into structured case studies. It shows what worked, what didn’t, and creates a practical guide others can learn from. Great for sharing best practices with your team or turning a productive session into content.

What to customize: Nothing. After any interesting AI conversation, simply paste it at the end of the chat.

Pro tip: Save it as a keyboard shortcut, on Mac via System Settings → Keyboard → Text Replacements, on Windows via AutoHotkey. You’ll have it at your fingertips without any friction.

How to start:

  • “Analyze this conversation and turn it into a LinkedIn post.”
  • “Turn this chat into an educational case study for my team. Focus on how we iterated toward the final solution.”
  • Or just paste the entire conversation without any instructions, and the prompt will figure out what to do.

5. Personal AI Productivity Guide

What it does: Your personal AI consultant that teaches you how to use AI tools effectively in your daily work. It tailors advice to your skill level, the tools you already use, and your operating system. Instead of generic tips, you get specific, step-by-step guidance.

A note: this prompt is designed for more advanced AI use, particularly vibe coding, which lets you build automations with AI assistance even without a development background.

What to customize: Fill in your OS, the tools you use, and your experience level with them. Update the path to your cloud storage.

How to start:

To describe your problem, you can attach screenshots from apps, error messages, or samples of the data you’re working with.

  • “I spend too much time manually sorting emails. I use Outlook and have basic experience with automation tools. How can I automate this?”
  • “I want to connect my Notion notes with Python scripts that generate reports.”
  • “This Python script is throwing an error and I don’t know why. I’m working on Windows 11 in VS Code.” [+ screenshot of the error message + code]

GENERAL PRINCIPLES:

  • Start – try the prompt as-is first, then customize it
  • Iterate – AI gives you a first draft, you tell it what to change, and gradually you reach the ideal result
  • Combine – use the Elite Prompt Engineer to improve your other prompts
  • Share – use the AI Collaboration Analyzer to document what worked

Three mistakes most people make

Instructions that are too vague. AI needs context. The more specific you are, the better the output.

Missing personal context. AI doesn’t know your industry, your style, or exactly what you need, unless you tell it.

Expecting perfection on the first try. Count on 2–3 iterations. That’s not failure; that’s just how working with AI works.

Start with the Elite Prompt Engineer or the Professional Email Generator. Once you have an interesting AI session under your belt, run the Collaboration Analyzer and document what worked. Then gradually set up the Personal AI Productivity Guide around the tools you use every day.

The results don’t come from reading about this. They come from trying it.
